Two Roles, One Career Path

Benefit Advisor vs. Licensed Agent

Every Licensed Agent journey can start as a Benefit Advisor — you already know the brand, the platform, and the clients. Becoming licensed simply expands what you're able to do.

Entry Role · No License Required

Benefit Advisor

  • Provides general Medicare & health education using approved materials
  • Completes client intake, consent, and document collection
  • Answers phones, schedules appointments, supports outreach events
  • Owns retention & follow-up — keeps clients supported after enrollment
  • Routes plan-specific questions to a licensed agent
  • Paid, performance-based role with bonus & incentive opportunities
Licensed & Contracted

Licensed Insurance Agent

  • Holds an active insurance license, E&O coverage, and carrier contracting
  • Provides individualized plan recommendations & enrollment
  • Owns the full client relationship, plan comparison, and production
  • Access to broker dashboard, CRM, and BizCo Plus business tools
  • Greater earning potential and book-of-business ownership
  • Ongoing AHIP / carrier certifications as required

Good to know: Benefit Advisors educate, collect information, and schedule appointments — they don't make plan recommendations or enroll clients. All plan-specific reviews and enrollments are completed by a licensed and insured agent. No insurance license is required to start, and training is provided.
